A rising star in the astronomy world and a renowned planetary scientist and volcanologist will join our Explore Alliance team for a live Q&A event that is set to launch at 04:00 CST (22:00 UTC) on Wednesday (November 24th).
During this special edition of Explore Now, 8-year-old Nicole Oliveira, who has already earned the moniker "world's youngest astronomer", and Dr. Rosaly Lopes, who is the Directorate Chief Scientist of the Planetary Science Directory and a senior research scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, will chat live about the spark behind their explorations.
About Nicole Oliveira: Dubbed the "world's youngest astronomer", Nicole Oliveria from Brazil has already discovered 18 asteroid candidates through her participation in the International Astronomical Search Collaboration — a citizen science program affiliated with NASA that is also known as "Asteroid Hunters".
About Dr. Rosaly Lopes: Dr. Rosaly Lopes, who was born and raised in Brazil, is a planetary geologist and one of the world's top experts on volcanoes. Her major research interests are in planetary and terrestrial surface processes with an emphasis on volcanology.
