It's time for the Moon to shine

In December 2020, astrophotographer Jim Norwood captured this lunar image with the assistance of Explore Scientific's iEXOS-100 PMC-Eight Equatorial Mount

International Observe the Moon Night takes place on Saturday (October 21)

It's a steady presence in all of our lives, but most people do not really take the time to appreciate Earth's closest neighbor. Each year, International Observe the Moon Night aims to right that wrong by encouraging people around the globe to take a good long look at the Moon whether it is through a telescope, binocular or even with the naked eye. This year International Observe the Moon Night will occur on October 21 to coincide with the First Quarter Moon. This is a great time to observe all of the features along the terminator line, where the illuminated Moon fades to black. For information on the vast range of activities scheduled throughout the world in relation to the event, visit moon.nasa.gov/observe-the-moon-night/.
