Virtual Star Party IV gets underway Tonight at 9:00 p.m. Central on Tuesday August 25th!
Legendary Astronomers and astrophotographers come together from around the world live to give talks, to share live through-the-telescope astrophotography, their image processing techniques, and their love of the night sky with you. Attendance is free to the public through the Internet.
Tonight we feature two keynote speakers: Comet Discoverer, and Author David H. Levy and Sky and Telescope Senior Editor J. Kelly Beatty who will participate in a seven part series with "Amateur Astronomy, Past, Present, and Future". In addition we have a special talk with Dr. Sanlyn Buxner of the Planetary Science Institute.
Experience live imaging with top astrophotographers including Dustin Gibson (OPT), Chuck Ayoub (Chuck's Astrophotography), Jason Guenzel ("The Vast Reaches"), Steve Mallia (Ontario Telescope) space art from Carlos Hernandez, and amazing door prizes sponsored by the Astronomical League and OPT.
From down under, telescope experts and astrophotographers Cesar Brollo and Rodrigo Zelada share their experiences and expertise. Legendary astrophotographer and image processor Gary Palmer joins us from the United Kingdom. But we also bring you talented up-and-coming astronomers, including Andrew Corkill, Richard (Astrobeard) Grace, and other special guests.
