Legendary planetary scientist to join lineup for the 131st Global Star Party tomorrow at 6 p.m. CDT |
With the theme of "The Voyager Effect", the 131st Global Star Party will welcome the legendary Dr. Linda Spilker to its slate of amazing presenters!
Dr. Spilker initiated her career at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory with the Voyager Mission crew — working alongside Ed Stone, Carl Sagan, and other renowned planetary scientists — and eventually became a legendary planetary scientist herself. After 12 years with Voyager, she assumed the role of Project Scientist for the Cassini Mission, dedicating 30 years to the mission. She then came full circle back to the Voyager Mission, where she is now the Project Scientist.
For the 131st Global Star Party, Dr. Spilker will bring her more than 45 years of international planetary experience and her commitment to transferring knowledge and training future generations.
